Especially in the neighborhood. Good to know what&#8217;s out there.<\/p>\n<p>A map from hotel reception in hand, I saunter to town. I spy the Tourist Information Centre.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_307\" style=\"width: 235px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-307\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-307\" src=\"https:\/\/travelbeing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG_0905-e1527880331667-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/travelbeing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG_0905-e1527880331667-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/travelbeing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG_0905-e1527880331667.jpg 240w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-307\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tourist Info Centre bathroom dryer, as intriguing as Gaelic<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I stride to the counter and introduce myself to the thirty-something chick with blue coloring at the ends of her dark brown hair. She tells me her name &#8212; it&#8217;s Gaelic and sounds like she said, &#8216;Leave&#8217;? She asks if I&#8217;m American. (Here it is, an opportunity to connect). She&#8217;s going to the Rolling Stones concert in Dublin and is over-the-moon excited (no wonder&#8230;Air Supply and Leo Sayer are upcoming shows). My usual inquiries which have served me well include the whereabouts of a:\u00a0 live music venue, farmer&#8217;s market, grocery and wine store, bookstore\/library, walking\/jogging path. &#8216;Leave&#8217; has all the answers and we chat on until other tourists began to queue.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond town is the Scilly pedestrian path<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-306\" src=\"https:\/\/travelbeing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG_0906-e1527880167458-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/travelbeing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG_0906-e1527880167458-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/travelbeing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG_0906-e1527880167458.jpg 240w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/> (they call it the Lower Road) which meanders along the bay to the historic Charles Fort. I come upon an older gentleman strolling at a slow pace (rather, I&#8217;m walking too fast). His eyes are droopy, his nose bulbous and red. He looks like Sneezy of the seven dwarfs. I say hello and smile. &#8220;Lovely day, tisn&#8217;t it?&#8221; he said. I missed an opportunity for a kind exchange, I could have learned something.&#8221;\u00a0 I tell myself &#8212; Slow down, Heidi. Make contact.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You got a chance to put things right, So how&#8217;s it going to be?
